In consultation with some of our forum members, I have produced some Time Out Cards which are intended to be used in partnership with your child's school. The idea is that the teacher agrees with the parents that if your child is finding things difficult to cope with and feels they need a bit of "Time Out" to enable them to regain their focus and attention, the Time Out Card is placed on the Teachers Desk and the child is given an agreed time in which they can be by themselves to calm down before re-joining the rest of the class and getting on with their work. Obviously the parents and school will need to work together to agree how and when these can be used before the child starts to use them. It has also been suggested that some children find these useful to have in the playground so they can be handed to the teacher on duty if the child feels they need to take themselves off into a quite area for a while. These have been formatted to be printed at roughly a business card size. Each one is personalised with your child's name - example pictures are below. Please note that the colours and designs may vary slightly from the ones below.

We can now produce these in packs of 8 which we can now produce with the child's name and send out to you. Although we do not charge for these, there are obviously certain costs involved, including the cost of the card, printing and things like that. The donation amount is entirely up to you. To give you a guide, it costs our charity about £4 GBP, to make and send out each pack of Time Out Cards which include the cost of printing, postage and packing to anywhere in the World from England.
