In consultation with some of our forum members, we have produced some Time Out Cards which are intended to be used in partnership with your child's school. The idea is that the teacher agrees with the parents that if your child is finding things difficult to cope with and feels they need a bit of "Time Out" to enable them to regain their focus and attention, the Time Out Card is placed on the Teachers Desk. The child is then given an agreed time in which they can be by themselves to calm down before re-joining the rest of the class.

Obviously the parents and school will need to work together to agree how and when these can be used, before the child starts to use them. It has also been suggested that some children find these useful to have in the playground, so they can be handed to the teacher on duty if the child feels they need to take themselves off into a quite area for a while. These are business card size in packs of ten and a picture of one is shown below (background picture may vary). Each one can be personalised with your child's name so please make sure you include the child's name in the Instructions To Merchant field when ordering. If no name is given then the name field on the cards will be left blank..
