One of the major issues for adults with ADHD is finding interesting, low admin, engaging, minimally beurocratic, autonomous, self-directed work! No wonder that adults with ADHD are three times more likely to run their own business than the normal population. ADHD adults tend to have significantly more jobs over a lifetime too, leaving jobs seeking more excitment and novelty, struggling with managers and rules, avoiding boredom and mundane tasks and generally getting in trouble from procrastination and from being maverick.
What jobs suits the creative, intuitive, stimulation seeking, rules and paperwork avoiding ADHD mind? How do you find the right job and importantly how do you keep it! A talk and discussion on Working with ADHD.
We meet on the 3rd Sunday of the month (usually) at the Churchill Centre from 10:30-12:30. We are a large support group (over 30 attendees) with a formal lecture/presentation on some aspectt of ADHD each month. The group is upbeat, dynamic, helpful and stimulating!
People come from all over and from all ages (18-70) and all professions (whether entrepreneurs, unemployed, psychiatrists, programmers, students or singers). There is always a fun and enjoyable atmosphere, a nice brunch, valuable ADHD information and most importantly we aim to never be boring!
