ADD & the College Student by Patricia Quinn
A number of people have contributed to this book which has been expertly put together by Patricia Quinn along with her own chapters, making this the ultimate book for those embarking on the move to college and their parents and other adults who work with them.
Doctors, psychologists and academics along with students write chapters who have gone before. All this expertise is brought together and added to by the author into a reader friendly complete guide to moving on.
This book gives young people advice and examples of how to succeed and how to become empowered for the journey ahead. Again as with the book by Kathleen Nadeau this is a brilliant book especially for the US reader, the only problem is that in the UK our students are not covered by as many legal requirements, which enable them to receive the specific help they need. Having said that this is ideal for UK readers as it will enable them to be advocates for services to be provided as it gives the ideas as to what to ask for to be in place to help the young person. This book encourages the UK reader to be more assertive in asking for considerations and hopefully this will inspire us to get more services provided in the future.
