The author of this book has produced an easy to understand and fun to use programme to help parents help their children with social skills, the Stepping Stones programme.
In the book the author explains how the stepping stones programme can help could teach the child how to handle things like teasing, how to join in with other children, how to feel better about themselves and how to express appropriately their feelings and their anger.
The book is divided into 10 chapters with each one addressing particular skills which can be practised step by step with the child. Each chapter lists a series of goals and ways of achieving these goals. There are quizzes to help monitor their skills to provide a checklist for moving on to learning the next step.
With cartoons and exercises to use this book provides everything you need to help your child learn many useful social skills.
