Facilitating Interpersonal Relationships in the Classroom
by Diane Salmon and Ruth Ann Freedman
An excellent guide to the literacy curriculum for grades 2- 5 by looking at development and social principles to help enhance understanding of interpersonal relationships for children in the classroom.
Using methods for reflection and challenge to help children learn these vital skills through role play and discussion. This can help with learning how to manage conflicts and other issues. By promoting reflection and observation skills this allows teachers to gain insight and knowledge to improve frameworks which they can use and adapt to individual social needs of their particular class.
Looking at the importance of studying relationships in the classroom this book also reviews research and current literature and provides good principles for practice.
