The Tuned In, Turned On Book
by Marnell L Hayes

Written primarily for children and young people with learning difficulties this book is also a great source of information and help for parents and those working with.

This book was written to help children and young people with learning difficulties to understand and get to know more about their problems. The author acknowledges that these children worry more when, they don't know what is going on, happening or what to do, and tries to help by explaining various issues and encourage them to work toward finding out. He makes the point that these children are not dumb or stupid and is full of encouragement for them.

Also the author includes a section with ideas and tips full study and ways for the children to show parents or teachers how and why things can be difficult for them. A section on ADD and tips to help overcome some of the main problems associated with having ADD to enable children to have more fun and get along with others.

The author writes for children but does not talk down to them, how refreshing! At the end of the book there is a section for parents and with the humour and understanding through our the author suggests that the child gets their parents/teachers to read this section and in the authors words,

"Why shouldn't you (the child) be able to assign some work to them (parent/teachers) for a change? After all, that only fair!"

An excellent book for children and young people, to help them understand their various problems and use the tips to help, this book is a must have book for adults to give to a child to encourage, support and make them feel valued. A great boost to any child's self-esteem.
