How to Teach and Manage Children with ADHD
by Fintan O'Regan

Brilliant, I have been waiting for this book to arrive for a while now, ever since I heard that Fintan was writing a book and AT LAST here IT IS.

Fintan has so much experience of teaching children with ADD/ADHD. He is a renowned speaker on the subject and very well respected. He runs the Centre Academy School in London, which is a specialist school, recognised as the first of its kind in the UK, which offers specialist teaching for children with ADD/ADHD and related disorders. It is also recognised as an assessment and management centre.

This book is easy to read and is a valuable tool for those working with children with ADD/ADHD, teachers, teaching assistants and others, to empower them to help these children to learn in a way which will allow them to reach their full potential both academically and socially.

Fintan discusses the condition of ADD/ADHD and its many implications on the lives of those diagnosed both academically and socially. He uses clear language that is easy to understand giving the reader a clearer understanding of the condition and its impacts.

Giving tips on strategies and promoting thinking about how you can help these children, he draws on personal experiences to provide strategies that work and can be implemented without too much disruption to the class as a whole. To enable these children to access the whole curriculum.

There are support materials including how computers are beneficial, supervision and discipline, the ideal classroom set up and classroom observation, performance checklist and TOAD - Talk, Out of seat, Attention, Disrupt - observation charts. All in all the perfect book for all schools, teachers, teaching assistants, student teachers and parents.

Wonderful and very highly recommended
