A Guide to Early Years Practice
by Sandra Smidt
The early years of a child's education are some of the most important but are often overlooked. These formative years are when a child can learn so much but at times society does not give it the acknowledgement it deserves.
Those who work with these younger children are often not as regarded as those who work with the children as they reach school age. However the input of those who work with the early years is vital to the overall development of the child.
In this book the author looks at current theories and practice as to how children learn and how we can encourage, support and extend this learning.
Using case studies the author shows how early learning goals can be achieved. Also giving advice on successful involvement as parents as equal partners in the child's education.
Essential reading for all those who are currently following early years courses and for anyone concerned with the early education and case of children.
