Improving Literacy Skills For Children With SEN
by Heather Duncan and Sarah Parkhouse

This book gives a clear, straightforward and practical overview for ways mainstream schools can influence and promote health to all they are in control with, staff, pupils and parents alike.

Looking at evidence from the UK, Europe and the USA the authors look into how emotional, social health, academics and learning can be considered as a whole to provide a happy yet effective school environment for all. Not only within the school but also how this can promote social and emotional well being within families and the community at large.

The underlying point to come across is that within the learning of academic subjects aspects of social and emotional well being can be discovered and enhanced to help teach more tolerance and encourage more effective ways for getting on with each other.

In turn this helps improve the learning/school environment for all - staff and pupils - and society as a whole.
