adders.org Book Review
Learning Difficulties and Emotional Problems
by Roy L Brown and Maurice Chazan
Based on papers given at the International Study Group for Special Educational Needs at the University of Calgary in 1987, this book draws on these various papers and issues of emotional and learning difficulties and how to be more aware of the needs of the child from early intervention throughout school years.
It brings out the various approaches which have achieved success and looks at various research and intervention methods which can be implemented to help children affected with both Learning and Emotional Difficulties.
By bringing together aspects of research and methods from a number of countries this book allows us to draw on numerous experiences and successes from all over the world and to use those things which have worked in other societies to improve and enhance our own understandings and methods.
When working with children with Learning and Emotional Difficulties we need to remember that different cultures and systems have varying views and this book allows us to be open to ideas from all over to improve the help and support we can offer to these children.
Useful for both parents and professionals who are willing to be open to all ideas to help.
