Research into median nerve stimulation on ADHD symptoms

Erika Badinger wrote to us...Researchers at the University of Nottingham are looking for participants with ADHD to take part in a study investigating the effects of median nerve stimulation (MNS) at the wrist on ADHD symptoms. The research team have previously shown the effectiveness of this technique in reducing the urge to tic in Tourette syndrome.

What is MNS?
MNS is a non-invasive brain stimulation technique that targets a peripheral nerve. Peripheral nerves are able to send signals to the brain, so by stimulating them it is possible to safely and indirectly influence brain activity.  

What will I have to do?  
During the study, participants will be asked to rate their symptoms whilst being stimulated at their wrist.

Requirements 
You must be 12 years old or older, live in the UK and be willing to travel to Nottingham. Please note that an important requirement is no diagnosed or suspected tic disorders or Tourette syndrome.

Travel expenses 
We have an inconvenience allowance of £8 for taking part and we are able to assist with travel expenses if you are travelling from outside Nottinghamshire.
