'Spider'

I've been bitten on the ass by a spider
long grass, turkey and red wine
in this mellow lazy afternoon
I forgot
Thanksgiving didn't land in Australia
not here
where the arachnids grow bigger than birds
A few flies looked at me and laughed
I heard them
buzzing with it
rocking in the air
tiny kamikaze pilots
their enemy squashed by my giant butt
he got his revenge though
before he died with his fangs pointed up
a warrior, indomitable, courageous,
rearing in fight
resisting those twin moons rushing
toward his planet
I admire his courage
stand in homage
salute at attention
I must ... I cannot sit !
