From A Teacher To Her Special Kids

'Miss' you say 'I know that one!'
and I can see the light turned on',
you jump the hoops and try to please
and we play happy families.
Then when you're curled against the wall
and that light's very, very small,
and when you're hitting, biting, screaming
that I can't know what you are feeling,
how I am 'here' and you are 'there'
and it is all to much to bear......
you must believe it to be true
I cannot be in 'there' with you
but I'm here with you every day...
and ALWAYS when you go away.
