I've been locked away for 16 years
But now I know why I shed those tears
It wasn't your fault you acted that way
They wouldn't believe things I would say

I knew you were special, and didn't quite cope
But something inside me gave me some hope
When you were swearing and banging about
I don't blame you without a doubt

I've always seen the love that you have
Not that I get much, but the little I've had
Will be enough for me, cause your my lad
