Attention Training Technique Study

LSBU Attention Training Technique Study

Dr Rachel Teodorini, from the London South Bank University (LSBU) psychology research department, is conducting a new and exciting experimental study in adults diagnosed with the primarily inattentive subtype of ADHD.

The aim of this research is to investigate whether an Attention Training Technique (ATT) would have a significant impact on improving the attention in these individuals, compared with a control group. This technique has been successfully used in Metacognitive therapy in several mental conditions, but none so far have investigated its effectiveness in improving the attention in people with primarily inattentive ADHD.

Dr Teodorini is actively recruiting adults between 18 and 45 years of age with a diagnosis of primarily inattentive ADHD, who are not on medication, for this London-based study. Participants will be required to visits LSBU's Southbank campus before and after a 4-week long daily practice of a short ATT practice, to complete questionnaires and tasks, while their brain activity is measured using electroencephalogram (EEG).

Please contact teodorr2@lsbu.ac.uk or susanne.macgregor@lsbu.ac.uk for full study details!
